Associate Program
An Associate is an individual whom the TPE recognizes as a trained facilitator having the experience required to lead a workshop or other programs while maintaining a safe and supportive space for participants and staff. The program is intended to be a collaboration between the associate and the TPE with the goal of developing more programs and expanding the community of the expressive arts.
The primary avenue for becoming an associate will be via the Practicum training program developed by the Painting Experience. Upon completion of this multi year program and one year in our Affiliate Program, an individual can be considered for a position as an associate. Alternatively, if an individual has extensive experience teaching in the expressive arts and a familiarity with our specific process, we welcome the opportunity to consider how we might collaborate. An Associate is an independent contractor wanting to create teaching opportunities by developing new workshop locations and creating online and in person programs in the expressive arts. TPE will offer the guidance and expertise of staff as well as the resources of advertising, communications, CEU distribution, liability insurance and more in order to work with the Associate to co-create and implement these programs.
On occasion, an Associate may be contracted to work on an existing TPE program, ie online classes, workshops, process circles, group mentoring, etc. Associate compensation will depend on responsibilities of the contract for individual workshops and programs.

- Additionally, Associates will enjoy waived fees and cost reductions to participate in Painting Experience programs, online painting, online and in person workshops.
Prerequisites
- Completed The Principles of Process Arts
- Completed The Art of Facilitating
- Completed one year in our Affiliate program
- Completed and submitted an Associate application
