Two Weekends at The Center For Creative Exploration

These San Francisco weekends provide the opportunity for total immersion in the timeless presence of process painting. The combination of the painting process, the nurturing environment, and the small group interactions in beautiful surroundings all help to quiet the heart, soothe the soul and allow for an opening to the unknown on many levels.

This is Stewart’s first workshop in San Francisco in many years. The Center for Creative Exploration on Chenery Street is the perfect location, with easy access and options for local accommodations and dining.

Tuition: $425 ~ Your tuition includes all art materials, two days of facilitated painting sessions with Stewart Cubley, daily group discussion circles in a small, supportive community, and a video presentation that supports the painting practice.

Workshop Schedule

Daily Schedule: Saturday and Sunday

~ Discussion Circle: 10:00 am – 10:30 am 

~ Morning Painting Session: 10:30 am -12:30 pm

~ Lunch Break: 12:30 pm – 2:30 pm

~ Afternoon Painting Session: 2:30 pm – 5:30 pm

What to Bring
  • As you know, San Francisco can be cold due to fog in the summer, bring layers.
  • We recommend comfortable shoes for standing. Our floor is concrete. (Cushioned/supportive shoes work well) 

The center has a refrigerator and microwave, all utensils, dishes, etc, but no hot plate.

Restaurants
  • There are wonderful restaurants within walking distance. You’ll find a list in the studio. 
Parking

Parking on Chenery Street

  •  Parking is generally easy in the neighborhood, with lots of parking available without requiring permits
  • However, watch out for “street cleaning” signs (the 2nd and 4th Friday on our side of the street outside the studio)
  • It’s different for every block in the area.
Cancellation Policy

You will receive a full refund minus a 15% handling fee if you cancel before July 1st, 2025. After that date, your payment is nonrefundable and nontransferable.
